Millar was in a quartet that included Dane Huddleston from Woodland, Eli Huntington from Camas and Prairie Jack Dalberg. Huddleston and Huntington trailed Millar with 3-under 66, with Huddleston earning second place overall on a tiebreaker. Dalberg shot an even 71.
“It was a lot of fun playing with those guys,” Millar said. “We had fun today. We really enjoyed playing together.
A total of six players beat par over 18 holes, including Evan Chen of Camas (67), Jacob Parker of Seton Catholic (67) and Grant Gumringer of Hockinson (70).
The tag team competition was equally lively with Camas taking first place with a score of 287. Mountain View, which was missing another top player in Alex Rigby on Wednesday, still managed to edge Columbia River for second place 292. -295.
The Prairie Invitational has been held for years at Cedars on Salmon Creek. But with that course closing last year and limited tee times at other Clark County courses, the tournament moved to Portland this fall.
