Men’s golf to kick off spring at The Joust

Playing for the first time this spring, men’s golf travels to Jurupa Valley, Calif. to compete in The Joust.

“We’re excited to be back on the course for the spring season. Everyone worked hard in the weight room and on the course when we had the chance,” the head coach said. Matthew Martin noted.

The Eagles will send a team of five golfers consisting of Joe Muschon, Zac Viminitz, Cameron Travis, Ryan Gillumand Nolan Squarewhile Blake Evans will compete individually. The field features a collection of West Coast teams, including host California Baptist.

The Joust continues to be a tournament like no other, as three prizes will be awarded after the end of the final round; an individual medalist, a team champion and an All-Five team champion will be crowned.

“There will be some competitive rust, but we will give our best every shot,” added Martin.

The two-day, 54-hole event begins Monday at Goose Creek Golf Club before wrapping up Tuesday. This will be Morehead State’s first appearance at The Joust.
