Men’s golf begins play in Seattle on Monday

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State men’s golf team continues its spring schedule Monday when the Beavers open play at the Redhawk Invitational hosted by Seattle University.

Oregon State comes out of a third-place tie at the Duck Invitational in Eugene on March 21-22. Mateo Fuenmayor and Carson Barry each finished tied for sixth in the tournament. Fuenmayor finished a combined 5-under par over the final two rounds, while Barry shot a 2-under 69 in the second round en route to the strong finish.

The Beavers competed in the Redhawk last season, finishing seventh overall. Fuenmayor and Barry tied the Beavers for 14andshowing a 1 in 215.

FIELD (24): Oregon State, Seattle, Abilene Christian, Boise State, Boston College, CSUN, Cal Baptist, Cleveland State, Delaware, George Washington, Idaho, LaSalle, Lamar, Loyola Chicago, Pacific, Sacramento State, Seton Hall, UC San Diego, UT Arlington, UTEP, UTRGV, Washington (individuals only), Western Carolina, and Wichita State.

CLASSES: The tournament will take place at Chamber’s Bay Golf Course, par 71, 7,068 yards.

RANGE OF BEAVERS: The Oregon State lineup will consist of Mateo Fuenmayor, Carson Barry, Jackson Lake, Brandon Eyre and Nolan Thoroughgood.

FORMAT: 54 hole tournament over two days with 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. The top four individuals from each five-member team with the lowest scores for each round of 18 holes constitute the scoring members for that given round.

DEPARTURE TIMES: The tournament will take place via a shotgun start each day. Departure is scheduled for 8:00 AM PT each day.
