MCBIA Golf Tournament to Benefit MTI Carpentry Apprenticeship Program

A one-day golf tournament to benefit the Marion Technical Institute’s Carpentry Apprenticeship Program is coming to the Ocala Country Club this week.

On Thursday, November 4, the Marion County Building Industry Association (MCBIA) will host their Hammer and Nails Invitational Golf Scramble tournament at the Ocala Country Club, located at 6823 SE 12th Circle.

On the day of the event, the warm-up begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch at 11 a.m., and the golf tournament begins at 12 p.m. with a shotgun start.

The Marion Technical Institute (MTI) carpentry apprenticeship program is carried out with the help of the MCBIA and benefits students and future construction professionals, according to a press release from the MCBIA.

Last year’s tournament had more than 100 participants, most of the players being young professionals who provide construction and housekeeping services to those who wish to live in Marion County.

The registration fee is $ 130 per golfer or $ 490 for a foursome.

A raffle will take place during the tournament, with a chance to win prizes, including a summer membership and a full family golf membership from the Ocala Country Club.
