Hellebuyck will play golf at the university

Almont golf star Jesse Hellebuyck will bring his skills to Lake Superior State University.

ALMONT – Jesse Hellebuyck from Almont recently signed a pact to be part of the Lake Superior State University women’s golf team.

Last fall, Hellebuyck provided Almont with an average of 93.6 per round of 18 holes.

She recorded her fastest lap, an 87, en route to 11th place among 107 competitors in the Division 4 final.

Forest Akers West Golf Course in East Lansing is where the tournament was played.

Hellebuyck also shot an 88 for second place in the Blue Water Zone Conference Tournament at the Holly Meadows Golf Course in Capac; tied for fifth out of 42 participants with a 94 in a Regional Division 4 hosted by the Washtenaw Golf Club; provided an 89 for 12th out of 71 competitors in the fourth annual Byron Eagles Fall Shootout at Hunter’s Ridge in Howell; landed a 97 for 17th place in the Lapeer Tuneup at Lapeer Country Club; in addition, she tied for 27th place at the Lady Falcon at Stony Creek Metropark (she shot a 91) and at the Troy Invitational at Twin Lakes Golf Course (she contributed a 92).

She finished her senior season as the All-Blue Water Area Conference First Team Pick and as a Division 4 All-State Honorable Mention Pick.

Hellebuyck won these same accolades during his junior season.

It was his fourth year in the Almont team.
