East London golf course clubhouse burns down, no injuries – London

An early morning fire in east London left no injuries, according to the London Fire Department (LFD).

Fire crews received a call around 8:05 a.m. Sunday about a fire at the River Road golf course, LFD said in a statement. Tweeter.

When the crews arrived, the clubhouse was ablaze.

LFD Platoon Leader Colin Shewell told 980 CFPL that the clubhouse was badly damaged but was still standing.

Shewell says the cause and damage are under investigation.

River Road is one of the sites proposed to be part of the city’s winter response to homelessness, the City of London says in a statement.

Trailers marked for this initiative were not damaged by the fire.

The City will assess the extent to which this fire could affect the winter accommodation site proposed by the Aboriginals.

Additional information will be provided as it becomes available, the city said.
