Ducks start the season at Lewis & Clark


EUGENE, Oregon – The University of Oregon cross-country team opens its 2021 season Wednesday night at the Lewis & Clark Opener in Lake Oswego, Oregon. The season opens at 6:45 p.m. PT on the Lake Oswego Public Golf Course.

The men’s race — four miles — will start first and the women’s race — three miles — will start 90 seconds later. Additional information about the competition, including live results, can be found HERE.

Wednesday’s race marks the UO debut for seven newcomers: Caleb Brown for men, and Holmberg, McClain, Nelson, Pivec, Ramsay and Thompson for women.

The Oregon men will begin their cross country campaign as the nation’s No.4 team with the release Tuesday of the USTFCCCA preseason poll. UO’s men are also the top-ranked team in the Western Region, ahead of Pac-12 foes Stanford and Washington. Oregon women receive votes in the national poll.

In three weeks, the Ducks will host the Bill Dellinger Invitational (September 23) at Pine Ridge Golf Club in Springfield.
