The LaGrange-Troup Chamber of Commerce will host its annual golf tournament on Thursday October 6th.

The 2022 Peachy Greens Chamber Golf Classic will be held at the Highland Country Club at 1001 Country Club Dr. in LaGrange.

The tournament will host two flights of golfers, with morning shifts starting at 8 a.m. and afternoon shifts starting at 12:30 p.m.

The tournament is a four-way scramble format. The cost to participate is $500 for morning shifts and $600 for afternoon shifts. The tournament also sells mulligans and other add-ons.

The tournament will allow handicaps using United States Golf Association (USGA) Golf Handicap Information Network (GHIN) registration numbers.

New to the event this year is their “Pot Shot” contest, where golfers can compete for the best shot while sitting on a toilet.

Golfers will also be able to participate in a contest closest to the pin and a contest for the longest drive.

Prizes for the tournament include $1,000 cash for first place, $500 Pro Shop Credit for second place, and $300 Pro Shop Credit for third.

A car and a beach vacation rental are also offered as prizes for a hole-in-one on two of the holes.

Breakfast will be provided for the morning flight and lunch will be provided for the afternoon fight. Both meals will be served 30 minutes prior to departure time. The driving range will open at 7:00 a.m.

The LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament was established 18 years ago as a networking event for its members. It also serves as a fundraiser for chamber programs.

“It’s just a fun event where our members can come together to talk, network and have fun,” said LaGrange-Troup President Connie Hensler.

Chamber members can also sponsor “Business on the Tee” to set up a booth at each tee box. Hensler said they are encouraging members to have fun interactive booths with giveaways this year.

Several seats are still available for golf teams on the morning and afternoon flights, but seats are going fast.

“We’re limited to 20 teams in the morning and 20 teams in the afternoon,” Hensler said.
